“The only reason we don't open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don't feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else's eyes. ” Pema Chodron

Whether being invited to join you as a Keynote speaker, trainer, or as thought partner for organizational cultural change, I help turn people toward each other to see others through the eyes of the heart. We live in a culture that tells us Safety is found is separation and disconnection —not only from each other but from ourselves, from our culture, from our bodies, from our emotions. Disconnection for protection is a falsehood, and it’s painful. It is hell. It fights our natural instinct and need for connection.
“Hell is the place where nothing connects” TS Elliot
“Heaven is the place where we realize everything connects. Everything is circular.” Matika Wilbur (Swinomish and Tulalip) and Adrienne Keene (Cherokee Nation), All My Relations podcast
When things aren’t working out, it is time to work in. I have a toolkit, collected over a lifetime, that when intentionally practiced daily and circumstantially have helped me and others. The toolkit helps us connect with our whole selves. This remembering of our whole selves, our emotional selves as one of our strengths when healed and harnessed, is both challenging and essential.
I use humor to create a joyful experience — facilitating spaces that allow us to dive deeper into oceans of thought and laugh uproariously as we splash in the shallow waters closer to the shore. I dream about and experiment with ways to shift culture toward the celebration of personal and collective growth. We need more spaces where people can be brave enough to open their hearts and minds.
